"Bare Back" 11"x14" Krylon latex & Acrylic on canvas

I apologize for the lack of lunches of late.  Both Vort and I have been taking some time off touring this month for some R&R and a few home town live painting gigs.  I had the pleasure of working with a guest painter, my good friend Steve O in Manzanitas a couple of weeks ago during a performance by our favorite trio, The Quick & Easy Boys.  I had spent the day on the beach in Manzanitas, OR before, but never the evening.  It was quite a wild time for a sleepy coastal vacation town.  The Boys killed it as usual.  Steve O worked on the painting during the 1st set and I worked on the piece during the 2nd.

The next day, August 21st found me at the Alberta Street Art Fair in Northeast Portland.  I had a booth by the main stage where a variety of musicians performed throughout the day. I worked on a single painting throughout the entire day over the course of 5 bands.  The result was "Storytelling", an extremely 3D 20"x24" Cank solo piece still currently available.

Alberta Street Fair, Portland, OR 8/21/10

Today's lunch is in transitions between shows.  It was taken down today since our show at Common Grounds here in Portland came to a close.  Most of the work that was at Common Grounds will make its way to the East Coast next week to be shown at 13.5% Wine Bar in Baltimore, MD later this month.  We have a few brand new Krylon Collabs that have only been shown here in Portland last month and before they make their way to their next show, we wanted to offer them here, on 50DollarLunch.com at an extremely discounted rate from what they will be for sale for in Baltimore.  This is a great chance for our collectors to pick up some fantastic new Krylons and the last of the latest series.

I had a great time painting The Quick & Easy Boys at both the Mt. Tabor Theater and at Eugene Celebration over the weekend.  I'll have more words and pics from both events on the blog tomorrow.  I'm spending another day in Kelcan's studio and I am getting really excited about a few new solo Canks I have been working on.  I'll have some photos of the works in progress up on the blog soon too.

I'm posting this lunch from Berkeley. Cank is in Portlandtown for the next 3 weeks painting some solo shows and will be set up on Alberta Street for the Art Fair this weekend.

The lunch photos are from The North West World Reggae Festival we painted over the weekend. We found homes for half of the paintings. The other ones are still looking for collectors.
